Working out in the summer is a pain. It is either too hot, too busy or just too painful. And somedays all of the above.
Since we can’t take the whole summer off, as much as we would like to. So here are a few tips to help you get yourself motivated.
Change up your activity
My go to exercise is running. It is just so easy to get ready for, which means I have less excuses to get out there. But, even I get sick of running all the time. So, instead why not schedule a change up. Swimming is a perfect summer time activity, so is Cycling.
Change the location
If you run on the road try some trails. Are you a mountain biker, why not give the road a try? Workout in the gym, I bet you can get a great workout at the park. The point is that no matter what you do for exercise there is a way you can switch it up to make it a bit different, and hopefully a bit more exciting.
Change the time
This is one I struggle with, I seem to only workout at certain times of day. It is a habit that I didn’t really notice until the weather turned hot. Since I normally workout on my lunch break, it is also the hottest part of the day. Ya… not smart.
I have been trying to get up early and get my work done before it gets hot. It certainly changes things up! And hey, if you are not a morning person, why not take advantage of the extra daylight and work out in the evening.
Take a rest
Finding it impossible to make anything work?
Maybe, it is a good time to chill out and just enjoy the downtime. After all if you are working out consistently then you more or likely will need an extended break. The hardest part is to learn to relax and roll with the punches.
